Color Trends of the Season
By: LEVEL THREE
Spring’s color palette is nothing short of jubilant! Gone are the days of winter’s moody and intense attitude. A vibrant, dazzling lineup of new accent colors has seeped into the world of fashion, art, design, and special events. Now that spring has finally sprung, we’re coveting six colors that will reign supreme this season.
Coral
Pantone’s Color of the Year, Living Coral, is making its mark in every medium. From fashion to design, the bright and chipper pigment will take over the events industry leaving no table cloth or centerpiece unturned. Coral adds a boisterous pop of color to daytime weddings, fashion events, birthday celebrations, and showers, while also complementing pale pink and neutrals with ease.
Marigold Yellow
Marigold, the happy-go-lucky color of season, dominated the spring and summer runways. Fashion houses like Oscar de la Renta, Brandon Maxwell, and Carolina Herrera cemented marigold as the “it” color of the season. Marigold transcends clothing and can be easily incorporated into the details of an event, from table settings to drapery. The inviting, optimistic color is perfect for a baby shower or daytime celebration.
Hunter Green
Deep and divine, hunter green turns any fete into an enchanted forest. The woodsy, earth-inspired color carries distinction and sophistication. Balancing between masculine and feminine, hunter green injects a regal quality into weddings, galas, and largescale events.
Blush Pink
A little blush goes a long way. The pale pink hue is a beloved palette pleaser, blending seamlessly with white or even lemon yellow. Blush pink can be incorporated into linen, floral arrangements, and party favors for a soft, feminine feel. The color is ideal for a stunning bridal shower or baby shower.
Misty Blues
For a smoky palette, misty blue introduces a sultry romance into any party. The blue’s greyish undertones are perfect for day and night, standing out as a favorite color for weddings in 2019. Make it the star of the show with neutrals like beige and blush, or pair misty blue with a pivotal pigment like garnet. The calming tone brings a serene peace into a celebration, transporting guests to a relaxing and charming ambiance.
Terracotta
Feeling galvanized by the bohemian trend? Southwestern-inspired color palettes are creeping into the spotlight this season. Sherwin Williams named Cavern Clay, a terracotta hue, its 2019 pick for best color of the year. The warm rust tone evokes an elemental harmony with nature, making it a fitting option for any celebration aiming for an organic, soulful occasion.
